About Breathwork…

What is Breathwork?

In Conscious Connected Breathwork we utilize a cyclical breath, over an extended period of time, to connect into our body and work directly with our nervous system. During a breathwork session, we use the breath to first activate a sympathetic response (fight, flight, freeze or fawn) then find our way back into a regulated state.

When used consistently, this type of breathwork can help alleviate anxiety, depression, and reduce stress, support emotional release, create nervous system regulation and resilience, form new neural pathways of possibility, and help resolve and integrate traumatic energy in the body.

Over time, when we become familiar with this process of felt regulation in our own body, we create a foundation of regulation in our outside environments. In our society, there are not very many places to practice this skill of felt regulation. Through Breathwork and the conscious connected breath, we give ourselves the space we need be able to heal and restore ourselves.

When we choose to consciously breathe we change the world…one breath at a time.

What Breathwork is not…

  • Always an easy process: Each time we conciously breathe, we may have a different experience. This is all perfectly normal and part of the process.

  • Meant to bypass trauma or “bad” feelings: In Conscious Connected Breathwork, we address things that are sometimes difficult. Breathwork is an opportunity to become curious about all parts of ourselves without labeling them “good” or “bad”.

  • A substitute for other healing modalities: Although Conscious Connected Breathwork stands on its own as a powerful way to process stored emotions, it also works well when used alongside other healing modalities. (Email for resources).
